More unusual Business Card Printing ideas

You don’t always have to ‘go with the crowd’ nowadays when it comes to getting your Business Card Printing sorted!

There’s no denying that using the standard card size, thickness and style looks professional, because it is. Cards that fit perfectly into a pocket, wallet or card holder are appreciated and kept for future use. Sometimes however, it’s hard to differentiate between some of those contacts, because they all used exactly the same style.

More recently, we’ve seen a wave of new and more innovative ideas for printed business cards. Everything from layered effects using several materials to completely custom shapes.

Layered card effects can maintain a standard rectangle shape, but break the card into sections using one or two extra layers. These layers needn’t be card either. If you need an eco-friendly card option, you can double up recycled card with anther recycled source, such as a type of hessian or wood.

Custom shape cards are one of the easiest ways to get a business card which is not only absolutely unique, but relevant to your industry or style. For example, there could be no better shape for a car salesman, that a business card in the shape of a car!

The latest methods of cutting cards allow for unusual cut outs within the card as well. Laser and Die cutting means that business cards can accurately have a bespoke shape cut cleanly on any card design. You could have a small icon cut out of the centre of your card to match your business branding, or even a small hole on a corner so your card can be placed on a hook or piece of string. All options that can set you ahead of competitors with much more unimaginative printing ideas.

You could design a card that would work well when folded. Something that has a ‘fold out’ section to make your card less flat, and possibly even a desk decoration. A business card that involves any kind of interaction, not only draws much more attention, but can be kept in a more prominent position on desks, counters and cabinets.

The most difficult part of the whole process is deciding, what you can do which hasn’t been done, or what you can reinvent which could have been done better!
